WHEN :

Saturday, April 23, 2005

10:00 am-2:00 pm General Public is invited to come see the murals and join in the festivities.

10:00 a.m. "Ribbon-cutting" by Denver Mayor John Hickenlooper

The Art Miles Mural Project is an international project in support of the UNESCO Decade of the Culture of Peace and Non-Violence Among Children of the World 2001-2010.

This January, the Denver Environmental Education and Mural Project erupted with great enthusiasm. Over 100 teams are now tackling more than 140 murals to be included in the Mile of Murals. Among the teams are twenty "Kaleidoscope" after-school programs of the Denver Public Schools; more than a dozen City and County of Denver Recreation Centers; seven Girl Scout Troops; three Girls Inc. programs; all levels of Denver Public Schools, Charter Schools and private schools; and many independent youth and community organizations. There are also "green" advocacy groups, an art-loving bank, and an environmentally conscious energy supply company.
